A $400,000 supercar has been firebombed at Sydney Olympic Park in a possible underworld revenge attack.
The torching of the 2022 Lamborghini Huracan was reportedly linked to Sydney gangsters in a revenge hit that also damaged a second car.
Emergency services arrived on the scene just after 1am and found the Lamborghini in flames.
A BMW i8 which was parked in front of the Lamborghini was also damaged in the firebombing.
Police and underworld sources said the fire was linked to organised crime.
Residents in Sydney Olympic Park reportedly woke to a loud bang just after 1am to find the car on the intersection of Olympic Boulevarde and Sarah Durack Ave ablaze.
NSW Fire and Rescue crews extinguished the fire but the $400,000 vehicle was destroyed.
NSW Police are investigating whether the incident was motivated by a jealous ex-partner’s family as part of a romantic dispute or a potential insurance payout.
“It could also be related to a personal dispute of minor consequence,” a senior police officer said.
Investigators are now looking to question two men who were seen in the area carrying jerry cans.
