Alleged Joyriders fatal chase: Tragic bike rider’s final message
A motorbike rider hit and killed by a trio of 14-year-olds allegedly joyriding in a stolen vehicle and being pursued by police was on his way to Tamworth to get his bike serviced.

A motorbike rider hit and killed by a trio of 14-year-olds allegedly joyriding in a stolen vehicle and being pursued by police was on his way to Tamworth to get his bike serviced.
Daniel McNamara, 52, was pulling out of a petrol station near Gunnedah just before 8am on Tuesday when he was struck by the speeding ute.
Police called off the chase and stopped to help the critically injured rider, who died at the scene.
Mr McNamara’s distraught brothers had been messaging him just hours earlier that morning to “ride safely”.
“My brother Dan. Words can’t describe the pain we’re all feeling mate. You were the safest rider and always did it with care. Our family will never be the same. Taken from us in a tragic chain of events. None of it your fault,” Adam McNamara wrote.
“Your last message to Dave and I this morning. I love you so much bro. We all miss you and are so sorry this has happened. We should’ve had more time Rest in Peace Daniel”.
His father Patrick described the eldest son as “beautiful and awesome”.
“We lost our eldest son Daniel … on his motorcycle heading to Tamworth to get it serviced. Hit by a stolen vehicle being chased by police,” the father wrote.
The teens were arrested an hour later in a second pursuit by police.
On Wednesday morning, they were hit with a string of charges.
The teenager police allege to be the driver was hit with 15 charges including aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death and three counts of being involved in a police pursuit.
The other boys, were each charged with face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
