Investigation underway after two bodies found in shipping container near Mudgee

Police have commenced an investigation after two bodies were found inside a shipping container in a regional community on Saturday morning.

Police have begun an investigation after two bodies were found inside a shipping container in NSW’s central west on Saturday.

About 11am, emergency services were called to Goolma Rd, Gulgong, about 30km north of Mudgee, following reports of a concern for welfare.

On arrival, officers attached to Orana-Mid Western Police District found the two bodies in a shipping container.

A crime scene has been established as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident began.

Sources told The Saturday Telegraph the bodies were of a man and woman and both badly decomposed.
They said it was too early to speculate on the cause of death, and investigators had not ruled out murder, suicide or misadventure.
