Police responded to two separate incidents that erupted at park football games across Sydney’s west.
In the first incident, police were called to Knapsack Park on Barnet St in Glenbrook shortly before 10am on Sunday following reports of an assault.
Officers were told a teenager allegedly assaulted another teenager during the Under-17s match.
A 16-year-old boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head injuries before being taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to Springwood Police Station where he is assisting police with their inquiries.
The brawl caused the next game to be temporarily halted as an ambulance drove onto the field to provide assistance.
It comes after police launched an investigation into another brawl during a park football match in Rydalmere.
The Granville Football Association was forced to call off the Under-17s finals match between Auburn District and the Holroyd Rangers at Rydalmere after a brawl broke out around 2pm yesterday.
9News captured dramatic footage of players throwing punches at one another before parents stormed the field to intervene.
Five red cards were issued to players from Auburn.
