NSW Police have laid bare the timeline of events they allege took place on the day Jesse Baird and Luke Davies died inside a Paddington terrace, and in the aftermath as accused killer Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon disposed of the bodies.
Constable Lamarre-Condon, 29, remains behind bars after handing himself in at Bondi Police Station last Friday. He has been charged with two counts of murder.
As police divers and riot squad officers continued to search a Bungonia property in the Southern Tablelands on Monday, a full timeline of what police allege can be revealed:
TIMELINE AS ALLEGED BY POLICE:
Thursday Feb 15:
Lamarre-Condon’s police-issued Glock pistol is signed out of Mirandan police station where he is based. He allegedly says it is so he can perform overtime duties at a rally in the CBD, under a user pays system.
Monday Feb 19:
9.50am: Gunshots heard in Paddington but not reported to police
9.54am: Triple-0 call made from Jesse Baird’s phone but it disconnected and was not followed up on by the operator. Police now investigating who made the call
About 11pm: Lamarre-Condon hires a Toyota Hiace van from a rental facility at Sydney Airport
Tuesday:
Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon makes partial admissions about his role in the deaths of Mr Baird and Mr Davies to a former police officer.
It is alleged he made partial admissions about being involved in the “deaths of two individuals”.
Someone uses Mr Baird’s phone and sends text messages which appear to be from him, arranging for an end-of-lease clean at his Brown St terrace, and selling furniture on his behalf.
Wednesday:
Lamarre-Condon calls in sick at work saying he has to undergo a “minor operation” and will be back on deck by Friday.
11am: Bloodied belongings of Mr Davies and Mr Baird found in skip at Cronulla by a greenskeeper at a local bowling club. Belongings include clothes, a mobile phone, a credit card and a watch
Sometime after midday, Constable Lamarre-Condon heads south of Sydney to the Southern Tablelands area with a female acquaintance
He stops at a store in Goulburn at the Bunnings store and buys an angle grinder and a padlock
Police allege Lamarre-Condon and the acquaintance then drive to Bungonia to a rural property where he uses the angle grinder to cut the padlock on the gate
He leaves the acquaintance at the gate of a rural property while he drives off for about 30 minutes
Meanwhile, at 1pm a crime scene is declared at Mr Baird’s home after police discover a large amount of blood and broken furniture
Later that day, Lamarre-Condon and the female return to Sydney
11pm: Lamarre-Condon purchases weights from a department store
Afterwards, police allege he drives back to Bungonia on his own
Thursday:
4.30am Constable Lamarre-Condon leaves the Bungonia area and heads to Newcastle where he uses a hose to clean the rented Hiace van
Friday:
5am He leaves Newcastle and drives back to Grays Point, in the city’s south
10.39am Constable Lamarre-Condon hands himself into police
2pm: He is charged with two counts of murder
