A man charged over an alleged stabbing in Sydney’s inner west on Monday will apply for bail at his next court appearance.

Harrison Singh was charged with a string of offences after emergency services were called to the intersection of Lyons Rd and Gipps St, Drummoyne, on Monday following reports of a stabbing about 10am when Burwood police found a 61-year-old man with a stab wound to his upper body.

Paramedics treated the man before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and detectives started an investigation into the alleged incident.

Following inquiries, officers arrested 26-year-old Singh at a Parramatta address about 1.50pm on Tuesday before he was taken to Merrylands police station.

During a search of the home, officers seized an unauthorised firearm and weapons.

Singh was charged with wounding a person intending to cause grievous bodily harm (DV), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), possessing an unregistered firearm-pistol, possessing an unauthorised pistol and not keeping a firearm safely-pistol.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday.

The matter was adjourned to Burwood Court on April 17 when his bail will be reviewed.
