Gunman on the run as man shot in Wetherill Park in Sydney’s west
Neighbours told on Friday of loud gunshots ringing out in a Wetherill Park street where a man in his 30s was gunned down overnight.

A man is in hospital after a shooting at a home in Sydney’s west on Friday morning.
Police were called to Lily St in Wetherill Park shortly before 3.30am following reports of a shooting.
Officers found a man in his 30s suffering gunshot wounds to his leg and hand.

Neighbours said they heard at least three shots, before sirens came screaming toward them. “We heard ‘bang, bang, bang’ but we didn’t know it was a shooting,” they said.
“We thought it was roadworks nearby. It’s shocking.”
It’s understood the man was shot inside the home, which he shares with his parents and grandparents.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A crime scene has been established, with forensic police scouring the inside of the property this morning.
The house remains taped off, as police investigate the shooting, which is believed to be targeted.
