A gunman dressed as a food delivery driver is now being hunted by police after a shooting at a Sydney gym on Tuesday night.

Vision of what appears to be a man on a vespa and wearing a high vis vest has been released by investigators, captured moments after the man, wearing his motorcycle helmet, walked into a gym in south west Sydney and opened fire.

About 30 people were inside the premises at the time but no one was injured.

Police are investigating if a dispute between the Hells Angels and Mongol bikie gangs is behind the shooting which they say was targeted.

“There are rumours there is some tension between a couple of members of opposing Outlaw motorcycle gangs which could be involved, ‘’ said a police source.

Officers attached to Parramatta City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A short time later a vespa believed to have been used in the shooting was found well alight in nearby Fulton Avenue.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing to anyone who may have seen a white motorcycle, believed to be a white Vespa, being ridden by a man wearing a yellow high visibility-hoodie and a red helmet, in the vicinity of Wentworth Avenue, Wentworthville.
