A man has been charged after allegedly leading officers on two wild car chases through Sydney’s southwest overnight — while more than three times the blood-alcohol limit.

Hoang Anh Duong, 54, was allegedly found with two large hunting knives and ammunition in the back of his Lexus SUV when he was finally arrested on Coleraine St in Liverpool just before 7pm on Saturday.

Police allege that in the hour before his arrest he left a trail of damage across the southwestern suburbs.

Duong allegedly first crashed his Lexus SUV into several vehicles on the Hume Hwy at Lansvale at 6.20pm, before driving off.

Witnesses called triple-0 and, as police made their way to the scene, Duong allegedly hit their car at the intersection of Lawson and Wilga Sts in Fairfield.

Police allege that despite hitting the fully-marked police vehicle head on, Duong again failed to stop.

Two subsequent police pursuits were initiated but both had to be terminated due to safety concerns.

Finally, police allegedly spotted Duong on Coleraine St about 6.45pm and, after arresting him, performed a search of his car.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station, where he was breath-tested and allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.153 — more than three times the legal limit.

Duong, from Fairfield, was charged with eight offences, including not stopping during a police pursuit, driving dangerously, high-range drink-driving, having custody of a knife in a public place, and destroy or damage property.

He was refused police bail.

THREE ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED PURSUIT

In a separate incident, three women — including a P-plate driver — have been charged after allegedly leading police on a pursuit through southwest Sydney.

Police allegedly tried to stop a car on Eagle Vale Dr at Eagle Vale about 8.55am on Sunday, but the driver failed to stop.

A pursuit was initiated but was terminated soon after because of safety concerns.

PolAir helped officers on the ground to track the car to Smithfield, where road spikes were successfully laid across the Cumberland Highway.

The three occupants of the car were arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

Police will allege that all three women refused to give up the identity of themselves or the other passengers.

The 31-year-old driver was charged with seven offences, including taking a car without consent of the owner, two counts of driving dangerously, and not stopping during a police pursuit.

The two other women, aged 22 and 30, were charged with taking a car without consent of the owner, and passenger not disclosing the driver’s or other passenger’s identity.

All three will face Parramatta Bail Court on Monday.
