A former prison guard has been charged with sexually assaulting two more women, taking the total number of ex-colleagues police allege he raped to three.
Scott Barry Hawken, 49, was in June charged with the alleged sexual assault of a female prison officer inside a home in Sydney’s west, a month earlier.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal Hawken has now been charged with four further charges relating to alleged sex attacks on two separate women back in 2011 and 2013.
Hawken was charged with three counts of assault with act of indecency over the alleged 2011 incident.
He was charged with a single count of sexual intercourse without consent over the alleged 2013 incident, where the alleged victim was woman in her 30s.
Both the women were former prison guard colleagues and the attacks allegedly happened at their homes.
Police have also taken out three apprehended violence orders (AVOs) against Hawken for the protection of each woman.
Under the conditions of the AVOs he is prohibited from assaulting, threatening, harassing or intimidating any of his alleged victims.
Hawken can also not go within 500 metres of any place where the women work or live.
The new charges and AVOs were laid against Hawken last Friday, the same day his matter was heard before Penrith Local Court.
Hawken, who was not in attendance at the hearing, was allowed to continue on the strict bail conditions which were approved by Magistrate Catherine Samuels in July to allow him to care for his elderly parents.
The former Silverwater Correctional Centre guard was arrested at his Lithgow home after a month-long investigation by detectives from the NSW Police Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad.
Police will allege Hawken visited a colleague at her home after she complained to him about an illness.
Sources with knowledge of the investigation said it will be alleged Hawken told the women he had “something to make you feel better” and once at the home allegedly drugged her, knocking her unconscious.
It is then that police allege he sexually assaulted her.
The woman sought medical treatment at Blacktown Hospital the next day, underwent a SAIK (Sexual Assault Investigation Kit) and contacted an associate for help, before a police report was made.
Strike Force Reka investigations uncovered the two further alleged historical incidents for which Hawken was charged last week.
He is next due to front court on February 10, 2023.
