Ex-Bra Boy Cheyne Wilkinson charged with murder
A former member of the Bra Boys known as “Big Bird’ has faced court charged with murder after an alleged stabbing at Eastlakes.

An ex member of the Bra Boys gang has been charged with a domestic violence-related murder that occurred in Sydney’s south east.
Cheyne Geoffrey Wilkinson, who was known to the Maroubra based gang as Big Bird, faced Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday charged with allegedly stabbing a 47-year-old man to death on Monday.
Police allege Wilkinson stabbed Daniel Gordon Johnson,who was found suffering a wound to his neck on a footpath on Maloney St, Eastlakes
NSW Paramedics rushed to the scene in an attempt to save Johnson but he died at the scene.
NSW Police set up Strike Force Brede to investigate Johnson’s death and arrested Wilkinson at 11.30am on Friday, January 31.
He was charged with one count of domestic violence-related murder.
The 43-year-old was also charged with assaulting Sade Toman, causing her actual bodily harm, an offence that allegedly occurred at the same time as the alleged murder.
In court on Saturday, Wilkinson briefly appeared on screen from the police cells.
His lawyer told the court he would not be applying for bail and he was ordered to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on March 27.
Wilkinson is a former senior member of the surf gang that has retreated from the public eye after rising to prominence in the early 2000s thanks to one of its members, Koby Aberton being a pro surfer.
Hollywood actor Russell Crowe also produced and narrated a 2007 documentary film that told the story of the Bra Boys from the gang’s point of view.
