It will be alleged the man came inside the café after breaking into a barista’s car as the team was setting up for the day.

At one point a staff member screamed before the man left and returned to the café.

One staff member from the cafe told The Daily Telegraph she had lived in Double Bay for a decade and “never had an issue” before.

The woman said she had to explain to other staff members it was an “isolated incident” and “very unusual” for an area like Double Bay.

It has prompted the cafe to consider installing cameras along with a “panic button” in case a similar alleged incident happened again.

In a video obtained by The Daily Telegraph a man is seen walking down Knox Ln past the garbage truck and towards the cafe.

Further footage then shows the man being treated by paramedics with police officers crowding around on the street.

The man was refused police bail and is expected to appear before Waverley Local Court on Thursday.
