A man has been charged after allegedly pulling a gun on staff at a popular southeastern Sydney restaurant when he refused to pay for his meal.
The 42-year-old will face Sutherland Local Court today over the alleged incident at Omnia Restaurant and Shisha Lounge at Brighton-Le-Sands on Monday night.
Police allege the man had been dining at the Bay St restaurant, but when asked to pay for his meal pulled a firearm out and placed it on the service counter.
The man allegedly held the gun openly in front of other customers while moving around the restaurant.
When police rushed to the scene about 6.30pm they arrested the man and searched him.
They allegedly located a replica Colt firearm and magazine of ammunition in his possession.
He was taken to Hurstville Police Station and charged with seven offences including robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, possess unregistered firearm-pistol and two counts of stalk or intimidate intend to cause fear or physical harm.
Police refused the man bail and after a night in custody he is due to face Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday.
