A man has appeared in court on sexual assault and domestic violence offences after being extradited from Western Australia as part of the Operation Amarok crackdown.
The North West Metropolitan Region’s Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team identified a 21-year-old man with outstanding warrants as a priority target and commenced investigations to locate him.
Their inquiries revealed he had moved interstate.
Western Australia Police were called in to assist, arresting the man at a home at Ellenbrook on Wednesday.
NSW Police officers travelled to WA, where they applied for and were granted the man’s extradition to NSW.
The man was escorted on a flight back to Sydney on Friday and taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and three counts of common assault (DV).
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
