Another potential bloody feud is brewing on the streets of Sydney, with the Alameddine crime network and an associate of the Comanchero believed to be offering a million-dollar contract to kill Mahmoud “Brownie” Ahmad.

Police are well aware of the underworld talk that he is a marked man and a gang is forming to counter any attempt to intimidate him.

Ahmad was recently released from prison after spending five years in jail for the manslaughter of underworld figure Safwan Charbazi at a Condell Park scrap yard in 2016.

That killing sparked off a series of murders, including that of his brother Wally Ahmad three weeks later at Bankstown, and has been linked to the executions of Hamad Asaad, and Kemel Barakat.

“Everyone knows, including Brownie, that there is a price on his head,” said an underworld source.

“He knows it and he won’t back down or hide.”

It is well known in criminal circles there is longstanding bad blood between the Ahmads and the Alamaddines, but the feud cooled off while Brownie was in jail.

Mahmoud Ahmad left Australia after the Charbazi shooting but returned on his own after negotiating with police to give himself up when he arrived at Sydney Airport in 2017.

He was sentenced to seven years prison with a non-parole period of five years and three months in 2020, which was reduced on appeal.

A day after he was released from prion in September, he was arrested by officers from the Raptor Squad for breaching Covid restrictions when he was found to be travelling in a car outside the 5km LGA limit.
