Police have shared CCTV footage with hopes of solving the mystery death of a man whose lifeless body was found in the stairwell of a Sydney hotel.
About 3pm last Wednesday, December 7, emergency services were called to a hotel on Kent St in Sydney over concerns for a man’s welfare.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and found a man deceased in the stairwell of the hotel.
He was later identified as Tao Cheng – a 25-year-old Chinese national.
A crime scene was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death, which detectives believe is suspicious.
Investigators believe the 25-year-old entered the stairwell about 9pm on Sunday, December 4.
Police have now released CCTV of two men who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
The footage shows two males wearing dark tracksuit pants, T-shirts and joggers walking through a doorway and into a hallway while carrying cans of drink in their hands.
As inquiries continue, police are asking anyone who may have any information regarding the incident to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers.
