Body of woman in her 20s recovered from Sydney Harbour near Woolloomooloo

Police have launched an investigation after a young woman was found dead in Sydney Harbour late on Monday night.

Police are investigating after the body of a woman was recovered from Sydney Harbour near Woolloomooloo on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to Lincoln Crescent shortly before 11.30pm on May 5 after reports a person had been seen in the water.

Officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command arrived to find the body of a woman in the harbour, which was retrieved a short time later.

The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be in her 20s.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
