Blue Mountains man hit with 40 historic sexual abuse charges
A Blue Mountains man has faced court today as detectives allege he sexually abused two young boys in the early 2000s. He was charged with 40 counts of sexual assault.

A Blue Mountains man has been denied bail after appearing in court charged with the historic sexual abuse of two boys more than 20 years ago.
A year ago detectives from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command began investigating reports a boy had been sexually abused by a relative in the early 2000s.
Police say through their investigation they identified a second alleged victim who was also known to the man.
Detectives under Strike Force Dilley arrested the 58-year-old at 8am on Friday in Yellow Rock, in the lower Blue Mountains.
The man was taken to Springwood Police Station and charged with 40 counts of aggravated indecent assault-victim under the age of 16 years (DV), four counts of aggravated sexual assault-victim under the age of 16 years, four counts of aggravated indecent assault-victim under authority (DV) and two counts of incite person under 16 years to commit act of indecency.
Police allege the man was sexually assaulting the two boys from 2001 to 2005.
In court documents, police allege the man had sexual intercourse with both boys without their consent.
The man did not apply for bail when his case was mentioned in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
He is due to reappear in Penrith Local Court on February 8.
