An Audi has wound up on its roof in the living room of a home in the Blue Mountains after ploughing into the house.
The home on Old Bathurst Rd in Blaxland suffered significant structural damage after the sedan, driven by a 67-year-old man, left the road and smashed into it on Monday afternoon.
Paramedics, who were called to the scene with police and firefighters about 4pm, treated the driver before taking him to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said the occupants of the house had been evacuated without injury.
The northbound lane of Old Bathurst Rd was closed at the intersection with Normic Ave following the incident.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is now underway.
“Anyone with dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” the police spokeswoman said.
