Xerri was arrested and faced Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, where bail was revoked and he was placed on remand until at least November 22, 2021.

That is the same day he is due back in court on eight counts of dangerous driving over the triple-car crash that claimed the life of Jo’Anne Duke, 63, at Eastwood in Sydney’s northwest, on November 13, 2019.

Earlier this year he pleaded not-guilty to all eight charges and a trial was set down for November.

Police allege Xerri’s vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of the road before colliding with another vehicle.

Mrs Duke was killed in the crash, while Edwina Roberts and Michael Nader who were driving in two other separate cars, were injured.

Xerri is charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, two counts of negligent driving, causing bodily harm by misconduct while in charge of a vehicle and aggravated dangerous driving.

He is also accused of failing to give his details to police when asked after the crash.

The Daily Telegraph contacted Xerri’s solicitor Elias Khouzame for comment.

His rugby league star brother Bronson has also been making headlines this year after failing in his bid to overturn the four-year ban handed down by the NRL’s Anti-Doping Tribunal.

The former Cronulla Sharks young gun tested positive to testosterone in November 2019 and has not been involved in a first-grade match since.

Xerri missed the first two games of the 2020 season before his positive test result came back in May 2020, just ahead of the league’s return from the Covid-19 lockdown.

Earlier this year he vowed to return to the NRL once his ban is served and promised to show the “haters”.
