AVO against Mercedes Mum Margarita Tomovska thrown out after drive by and murder threat

‘Mercedes Mum’, named after she was clocked doing 230km/h in a police chase with an unrestrained toddler, has returned to court after it emerged she was under threat of a drive-by shooting.

A woman who infamously clocked 230km/h in a police chase with her unrestrained toddler in the back seat was in court again this week.

But this time it was because her ex-husband was allegedly tossing up whether to murder her or arrange a drive-by shooting on her home.

Margarita Tomovska was dubbed “Mercedes Mum” and jailed for 18 months after she sped away from police with her unsecured three-year-old on a highway north of Wollongong in November 2018.

The 30-year-old was at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday to answer to an apprehended domestic violence order police took out to protect her ex Tony Solomon for a period of two years.

Police made the move in response to a series of posts made by Ms Tomovska on her Instagram account about Mr Solomon that began in the early hours of June 25, 2020.

One of the posts featured an image of Mr Solomon and his new wife on their wedding day with a caption that said: “Chanel bags this that. How about you pay your child support d. khead”, according to documents tendered to the court.

Mr Solomon could not see the posts from his account after being blocked by Ms Tomovska. So he created another account to view Ms Tomovska’s post.

He could then see when Ms Tomovska made two more posts, including one of his new car with the caption: “He’s poor when it comes to his daughter but not his new wife.”

Ms Tomovska also wrote on the post: “I can see you just like the way you can see. Keep stalking love … you and your ugly wife.”

The second post of Mr Solomon’s car said: “Redraw from a house loan to buy this to make yourself look poor like you owe the bank so much and no equity in the houses you own. Not even a dollar for your daughter (laugh face) scum.”

Ms Tomovska made another post that featured a song in the background with the lyrics: “Kill ‘em, put them h … to rest. Walk in (a) bullet proof vest.’

But, as the court hearing progressed, the focus switched from Ms Tomovska to Mr Solomon.

This occurred when her lawyer Abdul Reslan showed the court screenshots from Mr Solomon’s Snapchat account.

In the conversation, Mr Solomon allegedly appeared to be planning to either kill or conduct a drive-by shooting on Ms Tomovska’s home.

“Im gun (sic) keep trying to come to an agreement,” Mr Solomon allegedly wrote. “But if worse comes to worse I have to (do what) I got to do. I have no choice.”

The person Mr Solomon was allegedly writing to responded: “Like drive-by(?) Or u mean kill her?”

Mr Solomon allegedly wrote back: “Driveby 1st. Killing her is the last option.”

Magistrate Jennifer Atkinson dismissed the police application for the AVO.

When contacted, Mr Reslan said: “Ultimately the appropriate outcome was reached.”
