Comanchero boss Tarek Zahed’s sister has been charged after allegedly stashing ammo under her fridge.
Asmahan “Azzie” Zahed was arrested following a firearm prohibition order raid by Raptor Squad officers on Friday in Auburn, where police allege they found the bullets.
Zahed, 42, has been charged with possessing ammunition, while her partner Ihab Taoube was charged with possessing a loaded “SigSauer 226”, multiple different steroids, and breaching bail.
A heavily tattooed Zahed appeared in court from the cells of Surry Hills police station in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
Police said in court she would “endanger the community” if released on bail over the weekend.
The court was told the ammo was found behind a fridge in her home, where Zahed’s lawyer Ikbal Khan said a homeless friend had been staying recently.
The court heard Zahed was on a community corrections order for possessing a knife and two weeks ago finished her parole for possessing a shortened firearm.
She was granted bail on several conditions to live in a housing commission property in Auburn.
Asmahan Zahed is the younger sister of Comanchero heavyweight Tarek Zahed and his brothers Abdul and Omar, who was shot dead last year when he and the senior bikie were attacked outside an Auburn gym.
Tarek Zahed is currently in custody charged with murdering another underworld figure in 2014.
Abdul Zahed is also in custody refused bail on drugs charges.
Taoube, 45, allegedly had 23 vials of several anabolic steroids when police searched his Dulwich Hill home on Friday.
Court documents show one was named “test-death” and that he has also been charged with possessing two tablets of diazepam without a prescription.
When he fronted Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday police asked the magistrate to keep him locked up on remand, alleging he was already on bail for domestic violence offences.
His lawyer argued Taoube he had always reported when on bail, even when he recently returned from a trip to Turkey.
He was denied bail and his case will go before another court later this month.
