An alleged senior member of the Comanchero bikie gang has been fined for being among the thousands who protested Sydney’s lockdowns on Saturday.
The government has slammed the protests and vowed a heavy police presence to stop a second one planned this weekend.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal alleged senior Comanchero Ali Bazzi was at the protest, posing for a selfie with former NRL player Frank Winterstein.
Police confirmed to The Telegraph, Bazzi had been issued a fine for attending.
“Yesterday, a 43-year-old man – who is a senior Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang member (OMCG) – was issued a $1000 PIN for breaching the Public Health Order after attending the Sydney CBD protest on Saturday,” a police statement said.
On social media, Bazzi posted “what a great turnout today! Power is never given u must take it”.
“premier told u her plan to have u locked in till October … hell no!”
“To the people that gonna say cases gonna rise, I say to u is looking into the so called testing and u will see the holes in it!!
“And if you don’t want to open your eyes then shut the f … k up and mask up and sit at home ! Ur fear is what’s the pandemic … u don’t have to be a scientist or epidemiologist to read the data”
Senior police have told The Daily Telegraph protesters are being dobbed in to Crime Stoppers by even those close to them.
“People are giving police information about even their friends who attended the rally,” a source said.
Winterstein and his partner Taylor were also issued fines for attending the rally.
