Ali Elmoubayed new boss of Alameddine crime clan after overseas exodus

Police sources say the Alameddine crime clan has a new boss, after its high profile members went on an exodus overseas.

Sydney crime boss showered in cash

He might not have the surname, but Ali Elmoubayed is rumoured to be the new leader of the Alameddine crime clan.

Police sources said Elmoubayed, 30, had been put in charge of running the crime clan’s Sydney operations ever since its major boss Rafat Alameddine flew overseas to Lebanon in January.

Elmoubayed has long been regarded as a senior member of the crime clan, with his younger brother Khaled also an associate of the group, according to police allegations in recently tendered court documents.

But when NSW Police State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad arrived at his Dundas Valley home on Friday he was nowhere to be seen.

His wife told officers he had “gone to work”.

In reality, at the same time police had found him just a few suburbs away with two associates who police alleged in court joined him in a wild brawl at Westfield in Pitt Street Mall.

The Daily Telegraph was previously on hand when Elmoubayed was arrested in October 2021.

There were many similarities between that arrest and his arrest last week.

That too came at a time when NSW Police claimed the Alameddines were getting out of Sydney because of increased police pressure.

Elmoubayed was charged with multiple offences including affray and multiple counts of assault, but they were later dropped and he instead pleaded guilty to not disclosing the identity of the driver of a car he was in.

He was sentenced to a conditional release order (CRO) which is not due to expire until August 2023.
