Former reality television star Jordan Finlayson admits she’s hit “rock bottom” and will spend at least two years behind bars for peddling drugs to fund her own addiction.

The ex-Penthouse model, who relapsed with smuggled contraband as recently as January, says jail had potentially saved her life, but it’s not somewhere she wants to spend her life.

Finlayson cried as she was sentenced to a maximum four years and three months in prison with a non-parole period of two years and three months at Downing Centre District Court on Friday.

The ex-rugby league cheerleader, who appeared on TV show Beauty and the Geek, received a 25 per cent sentence discount for pleading guilty to ongoing supply of heroin and ice and commercial supply of GBL in 2019.

Finlayson and her then boyfriend Martin Roser dealt tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs to an undercover police officer in Sydney between April and May while she was on parole for less serious drug offences.

During one deal the 29-year-old assured the cop “the gear’s mad” before handing him more than $1000 worth of heroin wrapped in her bail reporting paper, agreed facts state.

Judge Phillip Mahony SC found that Finlayson had been spending $5,000 per week funding her own drug habit, saying she was “disgusted by her behaviour” and at one point overdosed.

“It’s shameful, I wish it had never happened… people can die of it,” Finlayson later told a doctor.

The judge said Finlayson will be eligible for parole next September on the condition she immediately admit herself into a residential rehabilitation centre in Byron Bay.

It marks a significant fall from grace for the ex-Cronulla Sharks dancer, who says she began heavy drug use following the breakdown of an abusive relationship in 2017, having spiraled into a deep depression after Beauty and the Geek ended.

After hitting “rock bottom,” Finlayson plans to start a promotional modelling agency upon her release and be a positive role model for young women, the court heard.

Finlayson also wants to take care of her father, who until recent coronavirus restrictions had visited her every week in custody despite suffering from worsening multiple sclerosis.

“I’m deeply sorry for all the hurt and pain caused to everyone… my actions let everyone down who believed in me,” she wrote in a letter to the judge.

Most of all, Finlayson said she wanted to make her parents “proud of their daughter and prove to the world that we all make mistakes, and it’s how we come back from them that matters.”
