Cops draw blank in brothel poker raid searching for Alameddine crime syndicate

Video from CCTV cameras has captured the moment dozens of armed police raided a popular brothel in search for alleged senior crime syndicate member Mohamad “Moey” Alameddine.

Raptor Brothel Raid

Armed police blocked off a North Sydney street and raided a popular brothel in their relentless pursuit of the Alameddine crime syndicate, The Daily Telegraph can reveal.

They hoped to bust a late night poker game at Centrefolds of Sydney after being told that an alleged senior member, Mohamad “Moey” Alameddine, was going to be sitting at the table.

It is understood the game was called off at the last moment.

Video from CCTV cameras outside on Clarendon St, Artarmon, as well as inside the brothel, show intimidating scenes as dozens of officers attached to State Crime Command’s Raptor squad, public order and riot squad as well as other specialist police race down the street and into the premises.

The bar area of the brothel was demolished in the raid as officers seized cups, glasses and bar fridges under their warrant to confiscate “vessels” used for liquor. Like almost every other brothel in the state, Centrefolds of Sydney has no licence to sell alcohol but it can supply it complimentarily with the correct DA.

Centrefolds of Sydney mistakenly did not have the correct DA because of a decision by the previous owner, which allowed police to get the warrant.

Mohamad Alameddine, 38, who is linked to the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang and its leader Mark Buddle, has been alleged by police to be one of the most influential underworld players in the state as they seek to make him subject to a serious crime prevention order.

The application remains before the Supreme Court.

It would make him the latest alleged crime figure to be hit with one of the strict orders that will limit what mobile phone he uses, where he can live and what car he can drive.

If the SCPO applied for by police is approved, he will join members of both the warring Alameddine and Hamzy clan who already have orders out against them.

Police said in a statement they went to the brothel for the purpose of executing a search warrant.

“Police located and seized alcohol, prescription medication and other items,” police said. They said a 33-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Chatswood Police Station where she was charged with failing or refusing to state her full name and address.

“Inquiries continue,” the statement said.
