QANTAS has opened the doors to its new Hong Kong lounge, touting new features in keeping with the colour, vibrancy and luxury of the Asian hub.
The new multi-million dollar lounge includes a range of high-end options, such as menus from Qantas consulting chef Neil Perry based on his Rockpool and Spice Temple restaurants and a “hosted experience” for first-class travellers and Platinum One Qantas frequent flyer members.
“The Hong Kong Lounge is stylish and contemporary, designed to reflect the colour, vibrancy and luxury of Hong Kong,” Qantas International chief executive Simon Hickey said.
“It’s the perfect environment for our customers to relax and work before their flight.
“All of our flights from Hong Kong to Australia are overnight, so we know customers will enjoy being able to dine in the lounge before they fly so they can maximise their sleep on board.”
Building on the template of Qantas’ Singapore Lounge, which opened in April last year, the Hong Kong Lounge seats 300 guests, has 12 showers, a family zone and flexible work area.
Lounge users can dig into a range of dining options, from the Spice Temple BBQ Bar to yum cha and a buffet, while the bar area, which has views across the airport, boasts Spice Temple inspired cocktails, an extensive wine menu and barista service.
First-class passengers and Platinum One Qantas frequent flyer members will also have access to a number of exclusive services, including shirt pressing, shoe shining and priority access to showers.
Mr Hickey said the new lounge was part of a broader commitment to Hong Kong as key hub for the airline in the region.
