TELEVISION presenter and cookbook author Maeve O'Meara is introducing new Gourmet Safaris in Sydney and Melbourne in 2014.

TELEVISION presenter and cookbook author Maeve O'Meara is introducing several new Gourmet Safaris in Sydney and Melbourne next year.

They include a walking tour of Greek suburb Oakleigh in Melbourne and French on Wheels and Italian on Wheels full-day bus tours.

New classes for next year include an introduction to Lao cuisine in Sydney, a Cypriot Safari on Wheels and World in a Day - Salsa, celebrating South American cuisine.

The safaris now also extend to regional Australia with trips to Kangaroo Island and country Victoria, and overseas to Vietnam, Sardinia and Corsica and the Greek Islands.

O'Meara, who presents Food Safaris on SBS, started running the tours 15 years ago and personally chooses guides for each tour who can offer local knowledge.
