LOCAL organisations making a difference to the lives of people in New South Wales and the ACT are invited to apply for up to $30,000 in grants as part of Jetstar’s annual Flying Start program.
The $30,000 grant is made up of $15,000 in cash and $15,000 worth of Jetstar flights, with applications accepted until June 30 this year.
The initiative is designed to help not-for-profit organisations fund projects that make a positive impact in their community. Last year, the grant was awarded to Shoes for Planet Earth, a Sydney-based organisation that provides second-hand running shoes to homeless shelters, disaster victims, sporting groups and people in need.
Jetstar Australia and New Zealand CEO David Hall said the airline looked forward to spending another year helping worthy local groups.
“It is an honour to be able to assist groups making a difference in communities across Australia through our Flying Start program,” Hall said.
The entries for this year will be reviewed by a panel of judges including Jetstar Flying Start ambassadors, Austereo radio host Jules Lund and television host Gorgi Coghlan, as well as David Hall and Jetstar pilot Jeremy Schmidt.
