Crocodile lying on middle of creek crossing stops traffic in Top End

IF there is one thing that will stop traffic - even in the Northern Territory - it's a large croc enjoying a feed in the middle of the road. See the picture

IF there is one sure way to stop traffic in the Northern Territory, it's this.

There was no way drivers were going to tackle Cahills Crossing, in the NT's Kakadu national Park, while this large croc was enjoying a feed of barramundi, The NT News reports.

Darwin woman Zoey Kellaway took this photo of the beast as she stopped at one side of the infamous crossing.

Onlookers gathered on the other side of the crossing - where a  man was taken by a croc in knee-deep water in 1987 -  didn't appear to be worried and were taking pictures.

Ms Kellaway said the croc didn't appear concerned with the cars or the attention.
