HE isn’t even a year old, but he’s already checked off his first big overseas trip.

Little Prince George has become the famous face of a rising force in travel: The Nappy Nomad.

Australian kids are joining the global phenomenon in droves.

Almost half - 47 per cent - of Aussie parents had been on a holiday with a child under 12 months old, new research from accommodation booking site Hotels.com found.

And in the past two years, two out of five Aussie parents travelled overseas with their under-five-year-olds, the survey of 1100 Australians found.

“Parents are now more comfortable than ever with taking their little ones overseas,” Hotels.com regional marketing director Katherine Cole said.

“With over 60 per cent of nappy nomads having been on at least two overseas holidays with their parents, it seems it’s not just royal offspring that are getting to fly before they walk.”

When it comes to seeking out family-friendly holidays, the amenities parents look for in accommodation include a children’s pool, bathtub, kids’ club, on-site restaurants and babysitting services.

TOP FIVE DESTINATIONS FOR NAPPY NOMADS:
