AUSTRALIANS can book stays at apartments and homes in France owned by their countrymen through a new travel booking website.

L'Apartment is the new sister site to petiteparis.com.au, which offers rentals in the French capital.

It includes apartments, chateaus, farmhouses and B&Bs throughout France owned by French and Australian people.

The site also offers information about the various regions of France and tips on how to get to the properties.

It has apartments in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Arrondissements in Paris and homes in Meouilles Provence, Olonzac Languedoc, Eymet Dordogne, Chaudenay Burgundy, Rouen Normandy, Lyon and the Rhone-Alpes.
