TYSON Mayr will be the envy of many Australians right now.

The Australian model and explorer has just scored an all-expenses paid trip around the world, plus $100,000 for blogging about his experiences.

Mayr won travel company Jauntaroo's much-hyped Chief World Explorer job, which attracted 3000 applicants from 99 countries around the world.

He will get to travel to up to 50 destinations over the course of a year, including Berlin, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Maldives and the Bahamas. Sweet.

Jauntaroo spokesman Tom Wilson said Mayr was selected for his outgoing, gregarious nature and genuine love of travel and appreciation of different cultures.

"Picking from the top five was very tough indeed, but as a group, we agreed that Tyson deserved the job given his obvious joy at connecting with new people from all walks of life and finding ways to give back to the communities he visits," Wilson said. "His genuine kindness, charm and broad social network help him to raise both awareness and money to advance his initiatives."
