TIGERAIR flights are expected to be delayed this weekend as pilots launch industrial action over a disputed pay deal.
The pilots' union has warned the airline that they will begin work bans at 3am Friday.
The industrial action includes bans on pilots working on days off, using mobile phones for work purposes and refusing to accept extra flight sectors.
Simon Lutton, executive director of the Australian Federation of Air Pilots, said the bans would impact flights.
"There will be an effect on a number of flights, it's hard to tell," he said.
The main sticking point of the deal, a delay in a wage increase was resolved Tuesday but the union has not removed its industrial threat.
Tigerair said in a statement that it was confident of reaching a deal.
"We value our pilots as an integral part of the business and we are committed to reaching a reasonable outcome," the statement said.
