IT’S ridiculously extravagant and you need to be super rich to do it.
This new luxury jet has been named the limo of the skies and it’s offering outrageously wealthy travellers the chance to take private around-the-world group trips.
For a whopping $140,000 a ticket, the flying limo comes with an on-board concierge, chef, leather flat-beds and staff to cater to your every need.
Seating only 52 passengers, the jet has been launched by the Four Seasons hotel chain and will take to the skies in February 2015.
Its debut flight will be a nine-destination, 24-day trip beginning in Los Angeles and will include stops in Bora Bora, Thailand, Turkey and an only-by-private-jet stop at the Taj Mahal.
With plush carpet, in-flight wifi and a concierge to plan guests’ spa treatments and book tee times, Four Seasons is hoping it can lure wealthy travellers who have been hesitant to splurge on travel according to an email sent to Bloomberg from Unity Marketing.
“They are hesitant to indulge now because of their concerns about finances and the overall economy,” said Pam Danziger, president of the luxury research firm Unity Marketing.
The maiden flight will be followed by the Backstage with the Arts tour in April and will travel to six European cities for 16 days taking in its history and culture. Costing about half the price of the first (bargain), guests will attend private galas at the Pavlovsk Palace outside St. Petersburg and see performances at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Sounds posh.
“It recognises their desire to pair adventure and discovery with the luxury of a fully immersive Four Seasons experience,” said Susan Helstab, executive vice president of marketing for the hotel chain. But you’ll have to pay top dollar for it.
Tickets for passengers flying in groups are $128,000. Single passengers pay $140,000.
Each package includes transportation, accommodations, excursions, meals and drinks.
Four Seasons launched its first group jet trips in 2012, using an aircraft that carried 78 travellers but this is the first time they have completely rebranded their own jet.
Of course, you can always charter the jet yourself for around $118,000 a day, with Four Season hotel stays required.
