The original series of The War picked up the 2023 INMA Global Media Award for best new video product as well as the 2023 Mumbrella Publish Award for best use of video, the 2022 Kennedy Award for outstanding crime reporting and the 2022 News Corp Australia News Award for best visual and audio investigation.
The War: Young Blood also received plaudits, picking up the 2023 Kennedy Award for outstanding online video.
