Apple quietly increased the cost of some of its products while you were distracted by the iPhone X

ALL eyes were on Apple’s announcement of the iPhone X and this is exactly what the company wanted so it could do something on the sly.

Five Ways iOS 11 Makes iPads Actually Useful

IMMEDIATELY following Apple’s annual flagship event there was heavy discussion about the company’s new range of products, which included the highly anticipated iPhone X.

However, one thing people weren’t talking about was the price increase Apple made to some of its iPad Pro models.

This could likely have to do with the fact Apple didn’t make mention of the increase, rather it just quietly updated the prices when its website came back online following the flagship event.

While a price hike could be expected if Apple updated its tablets with new features or more powerful components, sadly this wasn’t the case and it appears customers will be paying $A70 more for the same device launched in June.

Here are the products affected by the increase:

• 256GB Wi-Fi 10.5-inch iPad Pro — price increased from $A1129 to $A1199

512GB Wi-Fi 10.5-inch iPad Pro — price increased from $A1429 to $1A499

256GB 12.9-inch Wi-Fi iPad Pro — price increased from $A1349 to $A1419

256GB 12.9-inch Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad Pro — price increased from $A1549 to $A1619

512GB 12.9-inch Wi-Fi iPad Pro — price increased from $A1649 to $A1719

512GB 12.9-inch Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad Pro — price increased from $A1849 to $A1919

Pricing for the 64GB Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models remain the same as when they launched earlier this year.

While it’s not uncommon for Apple make pricing changes on its website for products not announced during flagship event, those usually translate to lower prices on products that have been now been replaced by newer models.

Apple’s decision to increase the prices on its iPad Pro models is not clear, although Macrumours suggest it could be due to an undersupply of NAND flash memory chips.

Apple has been contacted for comment.
