The death of 14 kangaroos has sparked a police investigation in the NSW south coast.
NSW Police believe the animals were deliberately killed, after five adult kangaroos and one joey were found dead in the Long Beach area, near Batemans Bay, just after 7am on Saturday.
Since then police have been notified of seven other adults and a joey that were found dead in the Maloneys Beach area.
The animals have been removed, but police say initial inquiries suggest they were “deliberately killed”.
Police have spoken to multiple witnesses and officers are scouring CCTV in the area.
NSW Police said they wanted to identify the drivers of two white 4WD utes seen in the areas of Blairs Rd and Sandy Place, Long Beach, and Maloneys Drive and Hibiscus Close, Maloneys Beach between 10pm on Friday and 12.30am on Saturday.
They believe the drivers may be able to assist with their investigation.
Any witnesses and local residents who may have CCTV, or anyone with information that may assist investigators, has been urged to contact Batemans Bay Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
