One of the world’s biggest game publishers is preparing to release the game it hopes can topple Fortnite’s dominance.
Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape is the next attempt at taking the throne in the free-to-play Battle Royale market from Epic Games, which turned it into a global phenomenon with the release and stratospheric success of Fortnite.

Battle Royale games are all the craze now, combining elements of survive and scavenge games with the intense battle of first-person shooters as players compete to be the last alive.
Following the success of Fortnite, Electronic Arts had a crack at the market with Apex Legends, while Activision used its popular Call of Duty franchise to release Warzone as a free-to-play title.
Hyper Scape is officially out for PC, Xbox One and PS4 on August 11, but until August 2, PC gamers can participate in an open beta to help developers add the finishing touches.
The game is seeking to differentiate itself from competing and established Battle Royale titles with a futuristic urban setting and vertical battle across city streets and rooftops of the fictional Neo Arcadia.
Players will also be able to loot unique special abilities like invisibility and teleportation.
You can also turn yourself into a ball and bounce around the map, which like other titles, shrinks and changes as the game goes on.
There’s also more than one way to win.
While the main goal is to stay alive until the end of the game, there is also a way to turn the tables if you can make it far enough into a match.
Seizing a golden crown that spawns towards the end of the game and retaining possession long enough will also help you lead the squad to victory.
