A NSW coach is on the outer and which player landed himself in hot water after a night out while in Blues Origin camp.
All that and more in this week’s saint, sinner and shoosh.
SAINT
CAMERON Smith has his fair share of haters — but there is no denying the man is a champion on and off the field. The Queensland captain showed his class and humility on Wednesday with a stirring post-match speech in which he honoured both NSW and Johnathan Thurston. Smith asking “JT” to share in the trophy presentation was a great moment. Oh, and his performance during the match was one of the most dominant in Origin history.
SINNER
IT’S impossible to go past Bernard “The Brat” Tomic. What a drop-kick. Most can handle tanking and trash talk, but to declare that Australia is jealous of him because he is rich is unforgivable. Let’s hope he is getting some good investment advice or he may soon be trading in his yellow Lamborghini for a Lancer.

SPOTTED
A BUNCH of Bulldogs watching $80m recruit Alexandre Lacazette score his first goal for Arsenal against Sydney FC on Thursday night. Josh Reynolds and Kerrod Holland were sipping a beer while Blues star Josh Jackson, no doubt nursing an Origin hangover, stuck to water.
SPOTTED II
COWBOYS coach Paul Green hooning round Reid Park in a race car last week at the Townsville 400. Green is a huge revhead, but until this year had attended the Townsville SuperSprint in secret because of a Toyota versus Holden sponsorship clash.
SPOTTED III
THE greatest Supercars driver and his heir apparent watching Queensland demolish the Blues at Suncorp on Wednesday night. Six-time V8 champ Jamie Whincup was a guest of NRL player agent Sam Ayoub while series leader Scott McLaughlin watched on from the stands with a bunch of his mates.
SHOOSH
WHICH NSW player copped a mouthful after his outlandish behaviour on a night out? The player was given a stern talking to by his manager and NSW officials after attracting the wrong sort of attention last Thursday week when the Blues were given a leave pass.
SHOOSH II
LAURIE Daley’s coaching assistant is in the firing line after the Origin loss. We’ve been told Matt Parish will struggle to keep his job with several NSW players not seeing eye-to-eye with Samoa’s World Cup coach. To say he is unpopular with players is an understatement.
