The list of 14 international and national teams to compete in the race from January 10-13 was announced on Sunday and again includes Australian WorldTour outfit Mitchelton-Scott who will bring defending champion Amanda Spratt back to Adelaide.
The four-stage race which includes three road races to Birdwood, Mengler Hill and Stirling will finish with a criterium at the East End before the People’s Choice Classic on Sunday, January 13.
“We’ve seen this race grow from strength to strength over the last three editions and I am really excited about the line-up we have secured for 2019,” women’s race director Kimberley Conte said.
“We will see CCC, Trek Segafredo and the Astana Women’s Team all compete in the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under for the first time, adding a new element of competition to the mix.”
The rider start list for the tour is yet to be released but the UniSA-Australia national team was confirmed last week and will include Rebecca Wiasak, Lauren Kitchen, Anya Louw, Rachel Neylan, Emily Roper and Josie Talbot.
