IF you were looking for players to turn the tide at a club then the Western Sydney Wanderers might have found their women in Kendall Fletcher, Casey Dumont and Joey Burgess.
The trio have made the semi-finals in every season they have played the W-League — something the western Sydney club has yet to achieve.
But a mass revamp in the off-season, a new coach and plenty of new signings has the Wanderers fired up and ready for the season ahead.
“There is a great vibe in the club’’ said Helen Petinos, heading into her fourth W-League season with the Wanderers.
“We have a lot of new players but we are forming our bonds well.
“There is definitely optimism for the season ahead. We are all really excited to start.’’
The Wanderers now boast three players from the Matildas squad, including teenager Ellie Carpenter, four American signings and two players returning for a fourth season in Petinos and Caitlin Cooper
The squad is still waiting for the arrival of Americans Fletcher, Katie Stengel, Paige Neilson and has four spots still to fill before the start of the competition.
The Wanderers first game is away against Perth Glory on November 6.
Sydney FC play Brisbane Roar a day earlier, also on the road.
