IF Tyler Wright wants to defend her world title, Sally Fitzgibbons win a maiden crown or Stephanie Gilmore surf off with a record-equalling seventh title it would help their cause to win the next event of the women’s world surf tour.

Gilmore, Hawaiian Carissa Moore and Wright all used the event as a springboard to success en-route to their 2014, 2015 and 2016 world crowns.
