THREE weeks out from her bid to win a fourth Hawaii ironman crown Australian triathlete Mirinda Carfrae has spent some quality and special time with husband Tim Donnelly on the racetrack.
The power couple of world ironman triathlon shared the limelight at the Ironman 70.3 Augusta by winning the women’s and men’s crowns on the same day with baby daughter Izzy watching from the sidelines.

The victory bodes well for Carfrae’s seventh crack at the Hawaii ironman triathlon on October 14 after missing last years race to have her first child.
“When he wins, we win. When we both win, the family wins,’’ Carfrae posted on social media after the victory in the US where she lives and trains for much of the year.
“Crossing the finish line today is something I will remember for the rest of my life. Tears ran down my face when it hit me how incredible of a team we are.’’

Carfrae, a former world 70.3 half ironman champion, will take sizzling form into the 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42.2km run race in Hawaii with the race in Augusta her second win over the half distance this year.
Carfrae has achieved podium positions in six of her seven attempts on the Hawaii ironman, winning in 2010, 2013 and 2014, finishing second in 2009, 2011 and 2016 and third in 2012.
O’Donnell, who finished third in the 2015 Hawaii ironman, is on the comeback from a broken foot earlier this year but will also take top form to Kona.
