Sydney Uni Flames, Sydney Kings to play two double headers in WNBL/NBL 2018/19

THE Sydney Uni Flames will play the first game of the extended 2018/2019 WNBL season and host 11 games before the finals series, including two double headers alongside the Sydney Kings.
The draw for the new WNBL season was released on Tuesday with the Flames to take on the Capitals at home in the opening game of the competition on October 12.
The later start than usual is due to the women’s world championships in Spain in late September.

Missing from the competition will be Liz Cambage but the majority of players in the Australian Opals are expected to be playing.
The Flames will meet Townsville in the first of two regular season semi-final rematches in an away game in round three on October 27.
The Flames were last year beaten by Townsville in the best-of-three semi-final series with Fire going onto the win the 20-17/2-18 crown.
The WNBL/NBL double headers will be played at Qudos Bank Arena against Bendigo on November 18 and the Canberra Capitals on January 13. The Kings will playing the Breakers in the first game and the Hawks in the second.
On November 24 in round seven the Flames will host a Perth side with two of their old stars, American Asia Taylor and Katie Rae Ebzery.
In a major boost the Flames will also play three of their last four games of the regular season at home.

The semi-final series will begin on January 26 with the best-of-three season decider slated for February 10, 14 and 17, if necessary.
The season is two weeks longer than the compressed competition in 2017/18.
FOX SPORTS Australia will broadcast one live game per round, as well as every finals game.
