COACH Cheryl Chambers will lighten the load on her players but demand more from them as they prepare for the opener of the WNBL grand finals in Sydney on Saturday.
Chambers said her players need to improve on their 76-61 win over Townsville Fire on Friday which delivered them a grand final spot.
The Flames will take on Dandenong in the match after the Rangers beat Perth Lynx 81-63 in the third and deciding match of their semi-final series on Sunday.
Foul trouble and patches of inconsistency marred the match with Chambers determined to eradicate both in the first game of the grand final series at Brydens Stadium on Saturday.
“I don’t think it was our best game but it was a really gutsy win,” Chambers said.
WHAT COACH SAID TO INSPIRE THIS TURNAROUND
“We had all sorts of foul trouble but we managed to cover that.

“And we’ve already spoken about it looking ahead. We just can’t afford those silly fouls.’’
Chambers said the Flames will stick to the same training routine which got them to the grand final.
“It will just be a normal week but lighter and lower in volume but with more quality,” Chambers said. “We don’t want to change too much.”
