Sydney Uni Flames happy with WNBL round one split
SYDNEY Uni Flames coach Cheryl Chambers said she would be happy with a split in the first round of the WNBL and that’s what she got.

CHERYL Chambers said she would be happy with a split in the first round of the WNBL and that’s what she got after the Sydney Uni Flames side bounced back from a first up defeat to down Perth Lynx in round one.
Chambers was always worried about the tough road trip which opened the season for the defending WNBL champions.

But after being beaten by last years wooden spooners, Adelaide Lightning, 91-80 in a lacklustre performance, the Flames came back with a rousing victory over Perth Lynx in their second outing of the round.

Defence, missing in their season opener, paved the way for the Flames who beat Perth 93-80 in their second match on the road.
Imports Asia Taylor and Jen Hamson starred for the Flames with a giant 20 points and nine rebounds each.
