Surfers strut their stuff on blue carpet at WSL awards
THEY are used to strutting their stuff on waves around the world as part of the elite world surfing tour but our surfers showed they can also turn heads on the blue carpet.

THEY are used to strutting their stuff on waves around the world as part of the elite world surfing tour.
But prior to Sunday’s start of the Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro events on the Gold Coast, our top surfers stepped out on the blue carpet.

Wet-suits and bikinis were swapped for party attire as the best-of-the best came together to celebrate the best surfing feats in 2017.
Longboarders mixed with big wave surfers, world tour surfers and junior competitors at the gala.
Mick Fanning, who will retire from the world tour after the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, was a man of the moment.
Also claiming a hunk if the limelight were world champions John John Florence from Hawaii and Tyler Wright from Australia.
Other attendees included Bede Durbidge, heading up Australias’s Olympic campaign and big wave surfer Felicity Palmateer.
A who’s who of world surfing is at Snapper Rocks this week as both the men’s and women’s world tour kick off.
