ORGANISERS of the 2019 Super Netball season have dodged going up against both the NRL or AFL grand finals with its competition decider to be played in mid September.
The extended season will put netball up against football finals - and potentially part of the second season of the NRL women’s premiership - but it has avoided a clash with the season deciders of sports biggest winter codes in Australia.
This is despite the world class netball competition breaking for an unprecedented four weeks to allow top players to return to their home countries to prepare and then play at the netball World Cup in Liverpool in July.

Super Netball 2019 will begin on April 27 with the grand final locked in for September 15.
This is almost three weeks later than the 2018 grand final held on August 26.
The full draw for the season will be revealed in six weeks.
The four-week break splits the world competition in half, leaving players enough time for national duties and then the World Cup tournament from July 12-21
The Diamonds will be defending their world title at the event last held in Sydney in 2015.
The opening nine rounds of the season will be played from April 27 to June 23 before the break.

The competition will then resume on July 27.
The semi-finals will be played on August 31 and September 1, the preliminary final on September 8 and the grand final on September 15.
“We have worked closely with the Netball Australia performance team and Suncorp Super Netball clubs to ensure the Suncorp Super Netball timeline we’ve established caters to all stakeholders and we’re now locking in the finer details of the fixture to ensure fans have the best experience possible,” said Netball Australia Executive General Manager of Events Chris Symington.
