Last week Jess Sergis capped off the final round game of the NRL women’s competition with one of the best individual performances ever in the short history of the league.
On Wednesday the St George Illawarra star winger topped that effort as the 2019 women’s Dally M Player of the Year.
The Origin star was a standout in the Dragons’ must-win clash against the Sydney Roosters last Sunday at Leichhardt Oval.

Her performance included an 80-metre intercept try and helped the Dragons earn a spot in Sunday’s grand final, for the first time, against the Brisbane Broncos on Sunday.
Sergis was also a powerhouse in this year’s State of Origin game in June. The winger’s showing was comparable to her male Blues counterparts. Sergis clocked a top speed of 29.5km during the game, just three kilometres less than NSW speedster Josh Addo-Carr top speed in game one of this year’s Origin series.
The electric outside back first burst onto the scene in 2017 where she enjoyed a breakout season that included selection for the Australia Jillaroos.
Injury robbed the flyer of a chance at another Test appearance but Sergis is all but guaranteed a recall at the international level in 2019.
In that same year, Sergis also earned a spot in Ben Cross’s NSW Blues team where she scored a memorable hat-trick on debut at WIN Stadium.
Sergis beat a hotly contested field in 2019, which included fellow Dragons star and fullback Botille Vette-Welsh, Brisbane Broncos forward Millie Boyle and New Zealand Warriors halfback Charntay Poko, to win this year’s Dally M medal.
